For the first time on this trip, we slept in, then enjoyed a leisurely breakfast. As a gift from the hotel, we were given buffet breakfast for each of our three days here. The buffet arrangements are lavish, complete with pastries, fresh and dried fruits, cereals, fresh squeezed juices, a tea bar, mimosas, a charcuterie bar, yogurts, omelette stations, and locally made jams. After heeding the suggestion of a British-born owner of a gift shop in Praia de Luz, yesterday we headed for the hills, or the Serra de Monchique to be precise in order to find the alternative Portugal.
