We will be taking tender boats into port today because of the shallow water. The port of Nynashamn is about 45mins drive by coach to the city of Stockholm. The city tour was the best you could expect to get from a cruise ship company. It was adequate. The fact that the trip from the ship to shore is about 30mins, plus the journey into town, doesn't leave a lot of free time to explore. The Vasa ...

... We had good coffee and danish, we walked a lot and ate lunch at a restaurant called Punkt Slut (Steven had salmon and I had a hot sausage). We filled the day looking at the many, many, beautiful things. It wasn't until we were running back to the ship, late as usual, that we remembered we were supposed to visit the ABBA museum. Ah well, Stockholm, we'll be back for sure.

... of them, a very Swedish meal of salmon, potatoes and asparagus and enjoyed a few wines. Then we headed to the town square as the town was celebrating its 400th birthday! So there was lots on going there with concerts and all sorts. We managed to get a spot at a bar in the square and had a really great evening. We went to the church for a gospel session, specially put on for the birthday. A super fun evening, and we enjoyed breakfast with our hosts before heading back ...

... through passport control and customs. When I hand over my passport, they ask me what I am there for. I tell them I'm site seeing for a week and then volunteering on the kibbutz. My visa had already been approved so it should be simple, ha. She sends me to an office area, where I wait for an hour and a half. Other people show up and they are interviewed ahead of me. After my not so great morning, I really just want to get this over ...

... We had a glass of house white which was a tad sweet then a bottle of Penfolds Kalimna with the mains. It was a lovely night and as we finished the red we had a long chat to Sophie whom we found had been at Kembala school in Sydney and knew our friend Kathy Sambell who taught there. Amazing how small the world is!! We finished with dessert, ligonberry mousse and icecream with cloudberries, two new fruits for us. All in all an excellent meal and another memorable day.
