... driving through the empty streets of Bali that late at night. Apparently Bali has a stray dog problem, and we definitely saw that as we drove. In places there were huge packs of 15-25 animals wandering the streets. Kind of glad we were in a vehicle.

We made a quick stop at the last house on the road to the start to pick up our guide, then made it to the parking lot. This trail starts at the Pasar Agung temple on the slopes of the mountain at ...

... through the middle of the jungle to Java's oldest Hindu temple was quiet unexpected. A challenging hike can mean many things to many people so I wouldn’t discourage anyone from giving it a try. Yes, that is correct; ...

... again got off ute bus very reluctant to be standing in the station in the middle of the night with very few women around. A few men approached us asking the usual "taxi? Taxi?" We knew they weren't working for actual taxi companies so we denied. We weren't even sure where we were going to stay but we decided to just stand at the station until it was light out and then we would walk to the best western as we assumed it was the safest place and we ...
