... over the whole town and the 2 main churches - all 3 of which are under restoration.
Had a late lunch at Badnyi Mlin which was a great find. One of the coolest places I've eaten at for a while. Like stepping into a Serbian village miles away from the city.
Wednesday night went to Kacina with Ben as Mladin had told us they brewed their own beer. Unfortunately their taps weren't working at the moment!!!
Thursday went to ...
... lot of things we wouldn't have without Arijan's commentary. During the tour Arijan found a bullet in the garden of the mosque that was left over from the war. He was incredibly excited at that as most remnants have been cleaned up by now.
The Sarajevo roses scattered around the city are easy to miss if you don't know where to look for them. They are mortar scars in the pavement that have had red wax poured into them to create an explosive ...
We are getting ready to leave for the boat to cross the sea. Next stop is Assisi and then home. I really like this place, So peaceful and serene. Maybe some day I will be able to return. Met a women and her hhusband from Assisi. Gave us some pointers and places of interest. Told us about some wine that is supposed to be best in Italy. Have to check that out. More later....

After getting in late due to the delayed bus from Dubrovnik it was nice to be met at the bus station by Majda and her brother Bata.
Ben ans Cassandra that were on the same bus from Dubrovnik were staying at Majda's too so we all went in Bata's car and got a bit of a night tour of Mostar on the way.
Since it was ...
Today turned into a sunny day after all. Yesterday rain all day. When it rains here it's pretty sloppy. There are some paved roads, but they are very uneven and have huge puddles. The path that we walk to town is dirt and that turns into mud. This morning Marjiana spoke to us about her life has a child when she started having appriations. It was under communist rule so she was basically kicked out of Medjugorje and forced to go back to Sarevejo ...
Medjugorje, Bosnia and Herzegovina bbirm(S) I got him the book for his birthday, so drive there we must. (C) And boy was it worth it! I thought the bridge would be bigger. And it would have helped if we had arrived JUST a little bit earlier. Sweet Sara for all her great cooperation almost got to see the underside of the bridge!
Visegrad, Bosnia and Herzegovina gr8escapeCaught the 7am bus to Srebenica for the day. 4hrs each way and about the same at the destination. There is not much to see, and few people speak any english at all. The most obvious place to visit is the Memorial Centre - opened in 2004 by Bill Clinton to remember the victims of the genocide that took place here. It is actually 6km or so out of town, at Potočari, but a taxi will take you and wait for small money. On ...
Srebenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina beingkwWhen leaving Bosnia- Herzegovina, I embarked on a very long bus ride that took us through Zagreb, Slovenia, into Italy and then on through Austria, all before returning into Germany. I was so glad to get back home. What an awful trip that was- too bad I cannot talk about the reasoning for taking such a long route but it was nice to see the countries as we stopped along the way.
