The mausoleum is now the cathedral with a Medieval bell tower in front, Venetian palaces now museums and there are lots of narrow streets instead of the wide Roman thoroughfares. There are lots of restaurants and shops and of course tourists along with people who live permanently within the walled city. ... lunch.
I wished I could have stayed there longer and relax by the sea but I had to keep going as I wanted to stay at Villa Mikrut in Podstrana the night.Mrs. Mikrut was obviously very pleased to see me again and gave me the top floor one bedroom apartment fronting the sea.
After unloading my luggage, I was invited to join her downstairs for a snack and ended up with a cooked meal later on. So nice!
