    The drive to Zihuatanejo was broken by a very suspect "police" stop. Maybe they were police. They definitely had side-arms, and their Tshirts stating they were transport security definitely had silk-screened badges...so that's pretty legit.     ... I was offered a cleansing by "una bruja" (a witch) using white magic. So one afternoon I went to her home with an open mind and a hopeful heart. I was rubbed with a lime and a strongly perfumed oil (was I marinated?) as prayers were said.

    ... for The Minstrel Walk. The Minstrel Walk is one of the cultural attractions in GTO where local troubadours (about 10 in this case) playing mostly stringed instruments take you for a walk with stories and songs through some of the streets of GTO. They provide an orange and tequila refreshment (mostly orange) in special jars to participants.

    ... the tranquility I get from walking in the hills, swimming in the sea, taking the odd yoga-class, or paddle-boarding.


    I went out this morning and on my way through the bay to the open sea I "flew" over schools of fish shimmering in the sun that penetrated the water beneath me. As I returned I had a close encounter with a marine turtle (not sure but I think was an Olive Ridley). A pretty perfect beginning to any day!

    ... get dragged along the concrete, 7 am the locals start to bustle and the musics cranked. Luckily we wanted an early morning wake up call.
