      Afternoon at the beach!

      Walked into town and had my haircut. A great feeling to have it cut after so long. Then to the bakery to say hi to Eva. We went for a walk in the afternoon to the Makkum beach and a quiet beer.       Dinner at a restaurant with views over the Sas Bridge and control tower. Lights twinkling as the sun sets. Even at this late hour, the road is continually rising to let the shipping traffic through.

      I should mention that Paul had the local specialty, grilled eel, a massive amount of grilled eel. Did my bit by having a satay and loved every spicy peanutty mouthful.

      ... village of Workum to visit the art museum of a famous local artist Jopie Huisman. He was a self taught painter who liked to collect old things and paint them. Fantastic work.       ... of West an Zee. The objective was to get a view of the North Sea. It sprinkled a little on the way but not enough to discourage us. Some of the paths were paved but others were just gravel. Everyone bikes in Holland. This seems to be the case regardless of age, size or even disability and here was no exception. We biked for a little less than an hour and we were greeted to a huge expanse of nice, soft sandy beach and the North Sea, but no wind...Only a few ...
