... they were forced to part, and i kid you not they kissed on the lips. thats right THE LIPS. apparently they start early here in france....

so on we went and arrived in tours. Albeit after a long sleepless night on the train and a brief moment in paris that included a walk to the seine.
On our way into the hostel we found an old thing, and a big church, followed by an even bigger church, followed by the wrong part of old town, then a ...

And so it begins. my life as a teacher? day 1

... if she tries to sort all this out now we'll figure it out at noon when she has off. so i called her back and said it wasn't acceptable, i still had a class at 9:30 and i didn't know with whom or where, and made her look it up for me. I wasn't about to skip my first real day of work because someone didn't do her job! fyi she's also the lady who tried to force us into that dark smelly apartment that didn't have internet, and was in sketch town.

So i make ...

quick visit

Just paid a fleeting visit to St Tropez on the way to Avignon (so we thought)... had to be done really.. a quick wander around and a very quick coffee. It was much smaller than I thought. Lots of nice boats but loads of tourists too.... that was about it!

What a nice surprise

... believe our luck. It was so nice. Still, warm and crystal clear water on sandy beaches. We had a quick swim but knew we had to leave to get to Avignon on time. We then decided that if we found a campsite that was open we would stay. The first 2 we came to were closed and we were sad...but around at st clair beach one was open! Woo hoo!!!! 2 very happy girls. That night we played in the sand like kids ...

On the Riviera.... I was stung by a Jelly Fish.

... Jelly Fish on my left arm and my left leg (a lot there). No worries, just got cream on it and put up with a bit of pain for a few days. Its still visible but will soon be gone. I must again mention how good Lola and her family were to us...We wanted to thank them and bought a bottle of Rosé... and when we gave it to them, we found out that they had left 2 bottles for us on our bed! Now... Cinque Terre!!!

Where the rich and beautiful come to play

... it doesn't make for pleasant swimming. Fortunately there were no dangerous animals in the water in France - just some fish. When I conjured up the courage to jump in, it was ice cold and I ran straight back out. After drying off, I went back in again and swam around for a minute before I retreaded again. Before we left the beach, we saw some other girls from our hostel and we were told to swim out to this cave about 150m from the shore. We were feeling fit and so we decided to try it ...

... and meditation to clear my head up a bit. Too many thoughts and feelings bouncing around in no particular pattern. I guess thats what Barcelona does to you. We stopped for a train change and had a restful few hours on a rock beach where I collected some smooth brilliantly colored pebbles to send back to my nephews. One day they must return the pebbles back to the beach for me. Tres relaxing as I basked in the sun and listened to the waves lap at the ...
