      Started the day with a hearty breakfast. Hotel offered a special price for a set menu breakfast. $7.50 for 2 eggs and choice of ham, bacon or sausage. Came with fried potato slices (like my mum used to make with left over boiled potatoes) and a couple of small slices of fruit.

      Keeping up with our theme we explored Montreal on foot. We walked to the nearby Metro station and bought an all day pass which allows us to get on and off the train as many times as ...

      It was dark at 5pm, but the old port is the next destination. There should be this ice skating rink somewhere nearby, hard to find in the cold n slippery path... Past the notre dame we had mass yesterday, then nothing but what seemed to be deserted streets mostly buried under the snow..

      ... store famous for making amazing pie. We entered and checked the menu and all decided we were getting shakes and pie. I ordered lemon meringue pie and Rox got some warm apple pie.
