... for dinner that night and breakfast the next morning! We then went and found an information centre to get some brochures and figure out what the best hikes and tracks are to do. The information guy told us the same stuff and Adrian's friend and we drove for about 20 minutes to Grindelwald. The good walking track was to the top of a mountain called First and so we set off for there. By the time we found the bottom of the hill I was already puffing and my face bright ...

I had already gone way over budget for my trip up to Switzerland. One of the many things I overlooked on my spur of the moment decision to drive was the tolls. Paying the toll was not an option, so I did what any rational person would do in my situation... Buy duct tape, cover the license plate and blow through ...

... boarded our train to Lucerne, Switzerland. The train ride was lovely and filled with interesting scenery. We went up and over some mountains and down onto the somewhat flat (relatively) area that houses Lucerne. We passed numerous lakes and watched the sun set behind the mountains. And saw the usual cows, sheep and goats with their bells on :) (it never gets old).

We got to Lucerne and had a scenic 15-20 minute walk to our hotel. The train ...
