This was the best hotel on our trip. We had a balcony (great for drying our washed clothes) but no view. This hotel had the only double bed on our whole trip. Overall is was impeccable but the shower curtain had some questionable stains on it.

... port set against the immense cliffs. There were three ways to get to the top. Walk up thousands of steps (ummm - no!), take a donkey on a precarious path ( again - no), and cable car. At 5 Euro the cable car was by far the best option, dropping us at the citadel and into the narrow streets of Fira, the largest town on the island. But it was Oia where we wanted to go to, so as we stood wondering where to catch a bus, we were approached by a lady who convinced ...

... before an eruption is likely to occur. The volcano would be a geologists dream! It was interesting seeing up close what we had been admiring from afar each day across the water. Nearby at Palea Kameni, we had time for a quick dip jumping off the boat into the not so “hot” hot springs created by the volcano! It was around 18 degrees, and even then there were only pockets of warmth. Still, this was the only swim we got to have during our stay in Santorini!

... perhaps the most famous of the Greek islands and certainly one of the most well trodden. Earlier that morning Nathan and I had grabbed a late breakfast before hopping on the massive Blue Star Delos, a ship that dwarfed the other ferry’s we have taken so far this trip. The ship was so big that it had nine floors, a giant duty free shopping boutique, several cafes, a fast food restaurant and its own helipad!

Three hours of smooth sailing later we approached Santorini. ...

... on a whole is a great place to relax. Definitely not a party island, but we were just outa peak season and not staying in Fira. Temperature, food, people, beer, accom, view, were all amazing. It was great to see the white sandstone buildings in the flesh and catch some of the best sunsets on offer. I'm giving Santorini : "9 out of 10 ByrneyWhacks" Ps we rescued a donkey from the streets of Fira meet Eeya, stay tuned for more updates of him. He can be a **** wreck ...

... we get beautiful red and orange sunsets. It made us realise how much we do take for granted at home. We have booked a place for dinner tomorrow night which was recommended by the hotel reception down near the water with perfect views of the sunset, so that will be really nice I think. After dinner, Mo tried to do his Dubai visa application again (the Internet has been a bit sketchy) while Mum, Jo and I went in our Jacuzzi. Then bed for a very good night's sleep! This morning we ...
