... if they were thieves hoping the bus would stop so that they
could raid the luggage lockers at the sides of the bus. Either way we
thought the bus company did the right thing in continuing on to the
next stop and replacing the bus.
At about 11am the next day we arrived in our destination,
Neuquen. We had decided to stop in this non-touristy town in order to
break up the journey to Bariloche, because it was my birthday and I
didn't want to ...
I decided to make a stop for a few days to have a look at some locally found Dinosaur remains. Apparently this area of Argentina has a very good climate for preserving many fossils and dinosaur remains which have been uncovered and boast TWO of the largest dinosaurs found to date. On the way from Bariloche to Neuquen the bus broke down, the first of my trip so not bad going really, about an hour and a half from Neuquen. Luckily a ...
Neuquen, Patagonia, Argentina travelhob... apparently the area floods and he´s had to pay for people´s ruined belongings. we told him we would take anything right then, so he said it would be fine. after setting up we headed into town. ooo, it´s hot. we called our friend sylvana, whom we met on the inca trail. she insisted that we stay with her, so then it was back out to camp to tear down. that night we went over to her parents´ home, beto and rosa. sweet people and a ...
Neuquen, Argentina ruizespieces... he had spent two months in Melbourne with his son. But he knew the history of the place. He could even point out the trees which my grandfather had originally planted. Knowing where the original farm began and where the new parts of the farm had been. And the house of Juan Rivas, the former foreman of the Chacra, who my old man knew very well. We headed down to the river, and I was kind of expecting to see some carvings in the tree with my Dad ...
Neuquen, Argentina elmatador... went to a dig, but for $40 each we would have half the afternoon in a car and only 1˝ hours there. So we went to the anthropology museum, which was nice but very small. It had a poster describing the theories of how people reached South America. The generally accepted one is that migration started from Siberia over the (then) land bridge, and hunter-gatherers gradually came southwards. But some anthropologists have suggested there was another migration from Europe ...
Neuquen, Argentina bansemer... competition the year before (and been bested by Brazil in the internationals) and now hosted a TV show in Panama. Certainly her ample, revealingly displayed rack seemed to support this story. It transpired that Samuel was her freeloading, insecure boyfriend of some 5 months, and he had just met her family, although none of this explains why he kept taking photos of her breasts as she slept on the car trip back to Neuquen. After the 2 compulsory vineyard ...
Neuquen, Argentina nickandamiria... been a couple for already a long time. But it was really nice, and I was at the table with all of Laura's familly: parents, brother and sister with their partners and even the little niece! There was the ceremony, and then the food, and then the dancing (at which I am hopelessly bad), and everybody had a good time. _______________________________________ ____________________ Have a look at Peacefrog Summary Page
Plaza Huincul, Argentina peacefrog... But it is very similar to where I live in the countryside in southwestern France, where people say Adieu (which is normally used for farewells without hope of meeting again), as an everyday greeting. I got back to the touritst office to get my bags back and wait for my bus. There was an american couple, they were a bit lost about what there was to do (I had been a bit lost too, but they looked quite upset with the lack of information, understanding nothing ...
El Chocon - CutralCo, Argentina peacefrog... The night came, the stars made the sky beautiful. I was walking on a totally dark road then, although I could see some lights in the direction I was following, and I could also see the lights of the road I had walked along, as well as the junction I had been dropped at, in the distance. I arrived in El Chocon. Nothing like a normal town. I walked to the first house I saw, where a baker was doing his night cooking. He was very nice ...
El Chocon, Argentina peacefrog... the spanish girl from Pucon) who will arrive around here tomorow night. She will stay at a friend, amd we have planned to go together with a car on thursday to see the dinosaur excavation site. A bit complicated, but that's how it is. And no doubt it will change again shortly. Off to my bus now, we'll see if I can find a room tonight when I get in El Chocon. _______________________________________ ____________________ Have a look at Peacefrog Summary Page
