... in danger or anything, just super uncomfortable for a first venture out really. We have since been back to the market nearby a couple of times with no further incidents. We also visited a local mall a couple of times, but nothing felt out of the ordinary with it. There are several well known american brand stores there, mixed in with places with more traditional Indian clothing. The mall even has a Chili's. It is exactly the same. Minus the beef products. At home I only go to Chili's ...

... Diwali Party in the evening which was attended by many families, and included activities such a quiz game, costume contest, and Tambola, a game similar to bingo. It was fun watching all the the cute children running around and playing together. We also visited Ramesh's newly completed condominium at Meenakshi Towers. It was a little closer to the city, and just as nice, with all the same amenities as at Lanco Hills. Ramesh's condo is on the 15th ...

... covered in flowers. The sudden gloom of a funeral processional overwhelmed me with sadness. To see so many people marching through the rain to the lake to burn the body changed my mood for the day. I am aware that death is a part of life, however when such traditions of India are brought before my eyes, it is difficult to cope with.

Upon returning, Shannon and I tried modeled our tailored sari's - enjoy the photos!
