    Overall to sum up the first part of ATW80, you have to be “GLOCAL”. Depending on which market you operate, you need to understand the people, the culture, and deliver processes and solutions to cater that specific market.

    Having explored the town on Tuesday afternoon we decided to have a lazy day around the pool today, have a few beers and soak up some of the afternoon sun. We met some girls from Lucerne that gave us a few tips for France before having a feed, some Swiss ice cream and settling in for our last night in Switzerland. 12 days has gone very fast but has been action packed and a time I'll never forget.     ... long and largely incomprehensible story in Italian and broken English about a boat he was on that went to Melbourne. He seemed to like talking to me more because I could knew some Italian and he persisted to talk to me even when the others had moved away, scared by the strangeness of the encounter. Finally I managed to grasp his hand in a solid farewell gesture and assert that we must leave. He hoped to see us again...we hoped not. At least I got to practise some Italian! ...

    ... lake, we went up the mountain in a funicular to a small mountain village called Pigra (means Lazy) from where we walked mostly downhill to the lake again – officially you climb 90m and you descend about 660m.

    Actually I was expecting, and prepared, to walk up onto the ridge above Pigra but we didn’t … (Perhaps another day.)
