... block several times we got the last park in the whole area, and it was right outside the restaurant. Never mind that it required Alison to hold up traffic while I backed out later on.) it was past 2.00pm. We were most concerned that we would be too late. But no, they found us a table, and brought the Menu de Jour on a blackboard – three courses with two options for each course. Our French phrase book did not help us to understand ...
Nîmes, Languedoc-Roussillon, France kevino101... vinaigrette and a little round of bread topped with chevre and fig confit. Lovely. The owners don't speak English, but were very pleasant. Since there is only pizza on the menu, there is little need for conversation.
Lucy has been unable to get her wifi to work, so she has gone to the cyber cafe down the street. I don't have the card reader for my Nikon, so my pictures are temporarily limited to snaps from my pocket Canon. Bon Soir.
At the Chateau de Malerargues, surrounded by trees everywhere, Sebastian has voice training for the next couple months. The work consists of a mixture of breath, movement, and massage, as well as singing, sounds, and group work. It's hard to describe exactly what goes on, and each day is different. But the isolation, beautiful weather, and delicious fresh foods make for a great place to work, relax, and reflect. So why do so many people have so many nightmares here?
Thoiras, Languedoc-Roussillon, France fiseb... to crash while focusing on other activities and those that view hostels as a significant part of the destination. There is a huge German group that seems to be mostly hanging out at the hostel with short day trips.
I meet several folks who are travelling solo. A teacher from the UK and an olde3r grad-school student from the US have both been at this hostel for a couple of weeks or so. Just a place to chill. It has camping which is real cheap. Mardi from Carcassonne shows up.
... me to come back and stay longer and I say I will .......I have some time to spare so i wander around the market stalls filled with a huge variety of delicious truffles, wines, asparagus, olives, nuts, meats, veg and olive oils ..I manage a confused mixture of French and Spanish and translate for some Australian tourists.... I fill my bags, return to my car and turn one last look at Uzes and my castle for the night, leaving the ghosts behind me....
... we gekomen waren. We ...
Salavas, Rhône-Alpes, France habeinfra... themselves over time will become extinct. That seemed odd to me but in a country that has such history I suppose you have to decide what era you want to preserve. There is even a problem now with wolves coming in to the park from Italy. They just can't keep intruders out of here! We spent two days exploring the Gorges of Tarn and the highlands. What an amazing area again very different from what we had seen. Windy narrow ...
Mayrueis, Languedoc-Roussillon, France marybc...
Remoulins, France kankel... cheesy stench of stale sweat and the flagrant use of eu de toilettes around here have coalesced an idea in my mind as to what they actually are designed for. As a washing device it is no longer as crazy as I once thought them to be. Still, I prefer a good douche (shower) any day. Thanks for Monseuir Bidet for one of the crazier ablutive contraptions ever designed.
Avignon, France technotrekkerThat morning we went to walk around the castle again, and then on the bus to go to a beach. Along the way we stopped a supermarket to buy our lunch. Brian and I went to look for the special Manzana Verde they used to make our new favorite drink. We bought a big bottle of Kas, as well as our lunches. Off again to the beach. On the ...
