I'm spliting today's log, only because I went "camera clicking happy". Too much beauty and this hotel has me snapping away. I'm sure if there was a fly on the railing, I'd be snapping that one too. So no updates here, just lots and lots of photos. We're pretty much on time today, arriving in the middle of nowhere again at Posada Barrancas. …
The city of Chihuahua lies in the central north part of Mexico. We came here to visit this place, very briefly, before taking the famous Chepe train, connecting the cities of Chihuahua and Los Mochis on the Pacific coast. It takes approximately 15h to go all the way, through scenic mountainous and canyon landscapes. Up around 0550, doing the ablutions and a bit of diary before down at 0705 for brekkie. Nobody from the group was down early so I read about El Chepe, our Copper Canyon train. Back up to finish the diary update by 0834 and then tended to paraphrenalia before packing for the flights, especially dealing with the tequila.
0939 before out with the camera, ...
... most certainly reserved on the right side of the train, as that's where the most stunning views are on the way up.
Tip - buy breakfast at the Oxxo on the way to the station, as there is no kiosk at the station, and the train's restaurant opens 7.15am.
To be honest, the first hour on the train, when it was still dark anyway, we just simply took another nap.
