I will finish writing about my time in Buenos Aires, when I'm done holding on to it, vibrant and real. ... sorted we decided to take the world's last manually operated cable car system to Fisherman's Wharf. The cable car lines have dwindled from 30 to 3 as they are very maintenance intensive and less efficient than streetcars and buses. They operate by the car gripping and releasing a constantly moving steel cable that runs below the asphalt at 9.5 mph - it's a bit like jumping on a t-bar at the ski hill. ... After seeing the place I can imagine it was a very lonely experience.

On my way back down the pier I passed an old dude on a mobility scooter wearing a red velour tracksuit. I heard him coming from quite a distance. He had a boom box on the front of his scooter with a microphone plugged in and was playing really loud rap music. His contributions over the mic consisted mostly of "uh-huh" and "yeah". This guy really made me smile.

San Francisco you're so weird... but I kinda like it.
