... spectacular part of this gorge can only be seen by rafters. This is where the river passes between cliffs 1300m high. The rafting expeditions start at the Tara bridge, a graceful structure of five arches, the widest being 116m. It was constructed just before WW2, then blown up by the Partisans, the actual person who designed it, then rebuilt in 1946. The rafting season is over:
