    ... found a different path near the gorge, climbing bridge rails etc etc to get some decent photos.

    Still alive, we traveled back to Salzburg slowly, walked the river by night and checked out the cathedral all while consuming pumpkin soup, chocolate, apple strudel and coffee.

    ... remember our new friends. We sat and visited with them outside one of the quaint cafes and discovered he was a retired school counselor. We emailed the photo of us together to them when we got back to the hotel.
    Some of the most interesting places we visited in Hallstatt were the very old churches, the very tiny, but well-kept cemetery high up the side of the mountain, and the bone house at the back of the cemetery. ...

    ... and water, we hop back onto a boat to return to St Gilgen. Amongst other sights we spot the steepest rack railway in Austria, the oldest paddle steamer in Austria, several parapenters, a couple if brave/stupid souls climbing a sheer cliff above the water.
