... Malaga then it becomes more mountainous and harsh. After Granada there are parts which remind us of the desert road between Khiva and Bukhara in Uzbekistan. Very scrubby and dry land. Once we get back to the coastal ribbon we see fields and fields of citrus, oranges and lemons before it becomes much more industrial near Lorca and Murcia. We stop for a salad and an omelette in a little town called Puerto Lumbreros. ...

... but the train was full and only 1st class seats available which cost us €60 each - ouch! To add insult to injury our seats - 8a and 8b - we're actually in separate coaches, so we couldn't sit together until much later in the journey when the woman next to me got off the train.
