... and so far, it does not disappoint. Arrived at Castro Marim which is a beautiful little town with massive hilltop fort and castles that are open during the day. WE left that for later and found a 3 km beach with glorious sands that is the start of the famous Algarve. Too windy for much lying out as we were shotblasted by the sand. Not too many swimmers either as it was suitable only for the hardy.

My birthday! We took the ferry and headed for Vila Real San Antonio (on the Portuguese side) in search of a special final Portuguese lunch but didn't manage to find exactly what we were after so headed back to Ayamonte for some tapas.
Oh before that we tried to help one yacht which ran aground just as it was leaving the entrance of the marina – it hit the mud pretty ...
... is part of the border of Spain and Portugal. Unfortunately the wind was on the nose therefore no sail.
We got the to marina at Ayamonte and discovered it to be quite silted up therefore not enough depth for us to stay in at low water. So we filled our water tanks and then proceeded to anchor just outside the marina.
