      2nd day in Manisa, I was going to ride to a place called Sardes, it a huge ancient Greek archeological site about 100Km's away from Manisa. I discovered that a lot of the stuff from Sardes was now in a local museum so went there instead...

      Sacked th coast road idea as it was going to be far too painful making any progress, so I did 350 miles today through mainland Turkey, scenery was very good in places and some of the roads where suitably twisty and in a good enough condition that I felt confident enough to chuck the bike around.
      So all in all not a bad day. I'm now in a random town called Manisa, there is nothing here for me apart from a very nice hotel with a decent pool. I may stay two nights ...

      ... fed more cats. Train ride was ok lost of room and we had a table, but no food only a little cart with coffee, water and biscuits.       ... east adjoining hill. That hill was no joke. A half hour of continuous up-hill scrambling found us gasping for breath at the top of the hill pictured in the background of the temple shot.
