... br> We went out to visit some local nearby villages on motorbikes with a guide from the hostel which was an interesting day, as the motorbike we were given was manual I was the only one that could ride it but the roads we were taken on were all loose stones and rocks so the day was spent dodging and weaving. A couple of times I had to get off and get our guide to take the bike over certain areas as it was treacherous and I'm so impressed that we manged to stay safe ...

... not jungle trekking we spent our time sampling the awesome food on offer in the village, I don't think we ever had a bad meal. We did have our favourite restaurant, Jungle Hill, which served the best Rendang around, I even got the owner to write the recipe for me - it is in Indonesian, but I'm sure I will be able to get it translated!

1 week later we decided to drag ourselves away from paradise to see what more this island has too ...

The ride from Solo to Malang was to be approximately 8 hours, depending on traffic it could be more, and we all came that morning into the bus prepared to entertain ourselves for 8 hours in the bus.

... lot of political unrest, earthquakes and ofcourse Banda Aceh was the first place devastated by the Tsunami. They are more hardened travellers than us as they hadn’t got any accommodation booked and they would be arriving on Eid El Fitre , the end of Ramadam so a big holiday in Sumatra. We wished them well on the rest of their holiday. We had a great time with them and will miss their company.

We managed to find a room for 2 nights, thank god! It’s at Mboy ...

... I could finally relax. I planned to move rooms the following day to join a German girl; Jutta in order to save money....Jutta was a friendly and funny girl, very easy to get on with and very likeable. She was at the end of her travels and was clear she planned to do as little as possible for the next 4/5 days :P Tuk Tuk is a beautiful island, very slow moving and full of friendly's very easy to find yourself doing nothing for hours on end; with a banana ...
