Sumatra; remote, evergreen island

A travel blog entry by anne-ruth

... working week!). Of course the trip was long. Really long. But in the night I could sleep quite well and during he day I was reading, listening to some music and staring out of the window. The landscape was beautiful. So many times I wanted to yell at the driver to stop so I could take some photos... And we stopped regularly for food and leg stretching. I found my way a little stretch down the road at Merlyn's Guesthouse, which i had read about in my Lonely Planet guide. With a Batak house to stay in for the night, tourists from Europe and the UK next door to me and friendly ...
