... People constantly hassled you to buy hats gloves and coats even if you are wearing them. One English couple we met were wearing a Bromo hat they had bought and the guy was still asking them to buy a hat and they were going "but I've bought one, see I'm wearing it" haha. ... I can recommend to go to this place. It's like you're a moviestar. I don't remember how often random people wanted to take a picture with me. The tourists that visit Sumatra are mainly Asian, so I was an exotic one :) Everyone is really excited to see a Western tourist and want to touch you and talk English.
