... to travel and we had a lot in common - I love these impromptu meetings with strangers that you leave feeling like friends - its strange but cool and weird at the same time. It happened a few times on the last trip we did too.

So it is special.
FYI -- The island owes its dramatic landscape to one of the largest volcanic eruptions in recorded history. It occurred around 1600 BC, and what was once the island of Thira sank to the bottom of the caldera and the sea rushed into the abyss to create the great bay or lagoon.
... Rottnest Express, more like a small cruise ship. We took the bus from the port to the town of Thera and walked to the village of Karteradhos where we stayed. We got a bit lost (not much), and got very hot. Check-in, shower, nap (there's not much to add there). We then headed to Thera (Fira) for a delicious dinner and beautiful sunset. ... the beach front to Perivolos - the beach here has black sand and the crowd is definitely younger, with heaps of cool bars and restaurants you can see how this is a party area - we almost wish we had stayed down here for a night ;-) Denham let me ride the quad all the way home - did I mention how much fun it is!
Once back at the hotel we relaxed by the pool before getting ready for the evening.
