We boarded a minibus heading to Cemoro Lawang a village close to Mount Bromo. 5mins down the road we saw the bus station and realised we had been dragged off the bus early by the tour people for the soul purpose of selling a tour but we did not mind as we liked our tour and talking to others no one got it cheaper. To be honest, if I would have known how tough it would've been, there would be no way I would've tried it.

BUT! It was all worth it.

Once we finally went up the 200 meter hill, and down on the other side, we arrived at the most serene river bend ...

... track?! We soon realised there were several of them sniffing around as some of the locals use them to transport the 'all the gear, no idea’ tourists up and down the mountain. We eventually made it to the top and it was already fairly busy so dropped down one level and found a great secluded viewpoint where all of our photos wouldn’t include the top of Chinese tourists heads.

The sun started to rise and to be fair, the view was absolutely amazing, we ...
