... The church was built in the name of John the Evangelist who was exiled there for 18 months in 95AD. From here we went down to a cave called The Grotto of the Apocalypse, where John lived and supposedly received the visions which he recorded and are known as The Book of Revelation. No photos allowed in the chapel or at the Grotto. Paul and I left the tour bus (I needed a bit of a breather after all of this!!) and walked down via the old ...

We spent the morning on Ikaria, an island untouched by tourism. It was so nice to wander in a village seeing the locals just doing their day-to-day chores, not trying to sell things to tourists. It felt 'real'. In the afternoon we headed for Delos and put the sails up for the first ...

... s trip to Kusadasi and Ephesus. Tonight was Greek Night onboard - we drank Ouzo - one of us having just one sip, ate octopus (suckers and all) and enjoyed moussaka, stuffed tomatoes and bacclava. We also learnt Greek dances and generally enjoyed the evening. Tomorrow, in the late afternoon, we will be walking the streets of Pythagorien in Samos - sadly there won't be time to go to the cave, but at least we set foot on the ...
