... They stayed a while stuffing their faces with bananas, then they suddenly climbed really high up the tree. We heard more noise and then the dominant male appeared, he was huge. No wonder they escaped up the tree. It was amazing actually seeing these animals, we were only about five meters away. We were very fortunate that at all three stations we saw Orangutans. There were a lot of baby orangutans, some of these were very entertaining. ...

We arrived in Bukit Lawang, Sumatra last night after a 4 hour journey from the Medan airport, the roads were chaotic, thank goodness our young driver was great at weaving in and out! Our bungalow is very basic and rustic, the bathroom is outside with a garden and only a cold water shower! Food in the restaurant ( if that is what you can call it) is not great but was our only source of food after we tried to find another restaurant and had to turn back as it was ...
