... so we had no option but to go with Lonely planets recommendation. The place was about 5km out of the main town, in the middle of nowhere. The place was a bit of a dive but cheap and as it was late, we didn't have any other options. There weren't even any restaurants near by but luckily for us a lady who ran little convenience store over the road, opened up and cooked us up some rice, veg and peanut sauce.

We hot footed it out of there the next morning and caught a 3 hour bus ...

We go down for breakfast, it's not the best we have had but you can have as much as you want, it's mostly indonesian food. ... Checked into very overpriced Hotel Ningrat (only game in town it seems) and spent afternoon wandering. Found Stadion Karapan Sapi, purpose built for bull races - no information of any kind but found a billboard stating race was taking place on Sunday - and walked back through town. After a great 5 days at Nicole's place (thanks again for having us) and at Pulau Macan we are at the airport again, heading for Malang and the Bromo volcano.
