... holland but within the netherlands can take offense to it. But calling the netherlands "holland" is like referring to the united states as a whole as "california". Although the example is a stretch, they're still similar, as california is simply a part of the US like holland is simply a part of the netherlands. ... final day of sightseeing in mind, we caught the bus back to the site. Unfortunately, half way through the journey it developed a fault and the driver had to contact the depot to send a replacement vehicle, so not good given our initial impression of the service. The site filled up yesterday, due to the weekend, I guess, but quite a few have moved off this morning. Anyway, about to get ourselves sorted for Bruges day ...

... and colourful with distinctive Dutch roofs. Brugge is located in Flanders, the predominately Dutch-speaking region of Belgium. The whole town is very picturesque and postcard pretty. There are lots of tourists here - most do Brugge as a daytrip since it's only about an hour away from Brussels or Antwerp.
