... on a Monday. Nor did we quite appreciate that the Italians like to siesta in the afternoon so much is closed after lunch. However there is much to visually appreciate and the odd church to pop into (Jules lit the odd candle). Very lovely frescos in most of the churches. On the motorway towards Venice we climbed until ...

This morning Nathan's battle with the infamous Roman traffic started up again. We got away from the apartment at about 10am and missed most of the peak hour traffic so the trip out of the city was relatively smooth. It is great to see how patient the drivers in the cities of Europe seem to be. Double parking, parking on the footpath or on pedestrian crossings are accepted with no ...

... head for the flea market. Bought myself a Mao hat, pair of mittens and some audio cables and a car charger for the phones. Again it was pretty surreal as I haggled with the chinese shop owner in Mandarin whilst everyone around, including him was speaking in fluent Italian.

Finally met up with everyone at the Cafe Zamboni, strangely enough situated on Via Zamboni (I tell you these Italians must spend ages deciding on the name of ...
