        We booked a hotel in Potes to explore the national park Picos de Europa. Such a beautiful range of mountains. Potes is on the eastern side.         Pros: this hostel was cheap, like 4 euros, and had a kitchen. Cons: the walls were covered with mold, you could see the evidence of years of pilgrims passing through imprinted as a dark shadow on the mattresses, the water was not drinkable, the first person to shower used up all the hot water in the first 30 seconds, and If there was a contest for who holds the most flies per square ...

        We planned on a sandwhich for dinner night, as my guide book made mention that our destination had "no food of any kind", and did not mention a hostel in the kitchen.
