Those amongst you who have been paying attention and actually reading this stuff will remember Jochen losing his waterproof trousers in the topbox incident last Sunday. Up until yesterday we had been lucky enough with the weather and he hadn't needed them anyway. But we lost over two hours yesterday sitting out the weather and clearly that wasn't an option for making any kind of progress should ...

... the hands of the attendant--and he'll never try to extort a "tip" from me for extra services...

Ordu has a lively, big city--almost touristy feel to it, with a cable ride starting at the coast heading up to the mountains. Of, course another big, brand new park right along the shore...

But what I find as I head up to explore the neighborhoods on the steep slopes is what puts a smile on my face. I see houses... old, traditional Ottoman ...

... is what I would remember and why I would go out again and again. For that feeling of hitting THE shot or a series of shots. SUCH a feeling.

It's the same with what I'm doing now. I know how I want it to feel yet most of the time, I am just frustrated and scrambling to find food, toilet, or a place to sleep and dealing with trucks whizzing past me or the rain cloud that is bearing down on me. Though I hit those moments, after I have given up and accept the hard reality ...
