The Road to Cafayate with a stop in Tucumán

A travel blog entry by phillipsquared

... learn some Spanish and did some research on Bolivia and Atacama desert. Time went by quickly and before we knew it we were on the bus to Cafayate. Although our journey was only 200km, it still takes 5 hours. The road is hilly and winding, and the bus stops often. The funny thing when you arrive is you get bombarded by people wanting you to stay in their hostel, we had already booked so smiled politely and headed off. At our hostel we met an English couple, Emily and Mark, and ...

Day 322 - 331: A Road Trip Across Argentina

... Later on in the trip we will be visiting the 'impressive' Bolivian salt flats but these Argentine salt flats gave us the opportunity to practice the mandatory "perspective shots". Fortunatamente il paesino non molto grande e con un po' di pazienza siamo riusciti a trovare un ostello ...

We took the bus from Santa Cruz to Yacuiba and then took a taxi to the Bolivian - Argentinian border, the scene we were met with was hundreds of people all trying to do the same as us, leave Bolivia and enter Argentina. It was about 6am and we hadn't been awake for long but we had to try and get our heads together to tackle the chaos. We seemed to be the only gringos at ...

... Cynthia was right to feel not really safe as the gravel roads were narrow, steep and off the side of the mountain. But I was driving, so I think she was just overreacting.)

The next day we go down the road the same way we thought we mind got bored of the same landscape but as we had the sun on the other side it was totally different. We went to Tilcara a really lovely village a ...
