    ... die Ruhe. Wir übernachten auf über 2500 MüM und in der Nacht wird es darum recht frisch. Dafür haben wir am Morgen einen herrlichen Sonnenaufgang und dazu viel Kaffee. Wir schauen uns noch den Schlund des aktiven Vulkan an der ständig etwas Rauch ausspuckt und fahren dann langsam Richtung Bali.

    Die viele Arbeit am Töff scheint sich gelohnt zu haben, denn das Stottern ist auch auf 2500 MüM nicht mehr da. Super ...

    ... some lunch before organising our permits to see the daily orangutans feeding session. It takes a little while to locate the permit office and then to find someone to write our permits, but one typewriter later we're walking 2km up the river toward the national park entrance. We arrive early and are pulley'd across the river in a small boat, we wait for about 20 mins and we are entertained by many long tailed macaques or cheeky monkeys as the locals call them ...

    ... before we have another mighty thunderstorm. This stops the wifi right in the middle of a hotel booking and we have no idea if it's gone through! It goes on for ages so we sit have a beer and something to eat, at about 19.00 Ian goes to ask the hotel reception if we could check out at 13.00 tomorrow instead of midday, as the tour we booked is due back at midday. They are completely unhelpful ...

    ... as we didn’t have a torch and the by the feel of it, the surface was all over the place. We managed to follow the Japanese guy from our mini bus who had a torch and without making it too obvious stuck close to him. He started to pull away from us as he had hiking boots on and soon enough we were just wandering in complete darkness.
