Bolzano marked the forty kilometre point of the journey and navigating through it slowed me down due to its considerable size. I stayed on the cycling routes and a followed the vehicle signs for Trento as I knew it was the next major city on the way. This is unfortunately when the biggest problem of the day came along. The particular cycle route I was on didn't continue ...
... these locations in the past. The houses are huge, often with massive barns attached which must have housed provisions for you and the cattle for the winter because presumably once it snowed that was that until it thawed in a few months. It must have been tough.
We have really enjoyed Italy; again. Tomorrow we head for Austria, the bit we missed last year.
