      ... contains paintings by Caravaggio - the fancy shopping streets which were not very backpacker friendly but did house the offices and factory of my hero Velentino!! Overlooking the whole Tridente area is a lovely park called Trinita dei Monti where I ate lunch and took in the sights and sounds of this marvellous city - pity I was interrupted by the horrible selfie stick and flower sellers.       After leaving Venice, we hopped on a train which took us to Innsbruck, Austria. This is in the Tirol area in the south western part of Austria. We stayed the night in Innsbruck, and made our way out to Kaunertal the next morning. Innsbruck was the first place that we were able to catch a glimpse of the Alps!       ... hairpin bends the road hugs the edge of a massive cliff. Much of the road is now under massive concrete covers and protected from falling rocks and snow but looking at the construction of the original road here is just a miracle to say the least.

      Today much of the road is held up by concrete pillars but on close inspection one can see all the old packed shaped rocks built up and carefully fitted under the road. What a job that must have been to build all this ...
