Polishing off my capaccino, I make my way across the square. I enter the Basilica of Saint Severaas and taken in the wealth in the treasury. It is chalk full of gold boxes, large oil paintings and wooden carvings. Down some winding stairs I arrive in the basement where the foundation dates back to the 300s. To and Huget both had to go to work, so we had a slow start and then drove to Holland! Maastricht, home of André Rieu! Had a lovely day walking around the two market squares, the food and clothes market stalls and then had lunch watching the people walk by. No churches, museums or art galleries today. Back home for more chatting and snails for dinner. To is truly a great ...
