... was nice enough to help me lug my heavy bag up the circular staircase. I thought I was carrying most of the weight but from the sound of her grunts and moans you would have thought she was carrying it alone. I guess it must be hard to climb stairs in HIGH HEELS. Chilean women are notorious for wearing heels everywhere because they are not the tallest of women and their feet are so small. I always feel like such a Sasquatch (BIG FOOT) when ...

Bariloche, Argentina stevemartina... thing that had the ability to stop us in our tracks every time was the sight of a condor in flight. We had previously seen these impressive birds of prey in Torres Del Paine and other parts of Patagonia, but this was the first time we had the fortune of been able to stop where we wanted and watch them glide through the air and occasionally swoop down to grab prey from the ground. During our rafting trip, our guide Christian informed us of a brutal festival (Yawar festival ...
Bariloche, Argentina alamou... then head on to El Chalten for some more hiking. On the plane I met Lola - a guide whose group was going to travel from El Chalten to Ushuaia per bus in two weeks. We were talking about our plans and when she heard that I planned to go to El Chalten she offered me a place in her bus straight from the airport to El Chalten ... Since that saved me more than half a day I gladly ...
El Chalten, Argentina stefank... in 2 landen staan.

... Short Circuit). We look at the map that Anna has provided and the walks are in the same area. When our car arrives, we head out to drive past the well known Llao Llao Resort into the Municipal Park on the peninsula. We decide to walk towards Sendero Cerro Llao Llao and along the way we meet a couple from Switzerland and Israel who are traveling around Argentina for many months. At the top of the hill, we find a beautiful overlook of three lakes ...
Bariloche, Argentina journeyer... that I felt a little sad leaving, as I had some amazing memories of the things we did and people we met, in particular Christy and Jodie who had to suffer us as roommates for the 5 days! Still we´d done all we could do so it was time to move onwards and downwards to El Calafate in the heart of Patagonia in the hope of seeing icebergs, whales and maybe even some penguins! So it´s goodbye for now from a very chilly Argentina! All the best Jim
San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina jamesmc... juggler is the one who stand on a pedestrian crossing at traffic lights and juggle balls, scarves, pins or even fire machetes in the hope of catching the motorists loose change too. We have a long bus trip to Mendoza tomorrow so we are going to bed early at The Tango Inn Downtown where we are sharing a 12 bed dorm with drunken disorderly 20 year old girls, sleep not.
San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina inoursuitcase... we would head to the day after. Soon we reached the turn-off for our day's end, passing the subdued Laguna Schmoll on the way down into the valley were Refugio Frey sits on the edge of Laguna Tonchek, looking up to the jagged towers and spires of aptly-named Cerro Catedral, a mountain we were to admire from many angles in the coming days. Day 2 - Refugio Frey to Refugio Jakob (San Martin) Day two was a lesson on how this trek was going to be: back ...
San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina nancydeb... call itself an extreme sport! So dont go with Adventure Tours up off the main street. Later at dinner we got this cool fondue. You get a plate of raw steak and chicken and you cook it yourself in the stock soup in the fondue pot, great fun! The potatoe gratin was to die for also. We declined the chocolate fondue however! No seats left on the direct bus to Pucon so we had a lazy day chilling in the ...
