    ... South Island. A three and a half hour ferry crossing is not ideal with two hours sleep so most of us slept the journey after a big fry up! Crossed into the South Island and made our way to Kaiteriteri, our favourite named place. Spent most of the day on the bus so when we got there we went straight into the sea for a refreshing dip and a beach run.     ... on the hottest day of summer with 30 degrees. After a stop in the gold city of Arrowtown I headed to Te Anau and further onwards to see the Milford Sounds. On the way I stopped and walked the other side of the Routebourne track. Impressive with high mountain lakes and more stunning views of the tops of NZ.
