Well first day in Amsterdam was sensory overload. There were people from just about every country in the world (and I think nearly whole population of every country) walking down the main street of the city. ... is a very good flat white! To relieve our tired feet we took a canal boat trip which took us past a number of landmarks. You wouldn't want to fall in as the colour of the water is a murky green. ... like this is not a good idea. All of the street names have multiple vowels and are extremely long. It was hard to just glance at a sign to make sure you are going the right way.

We rented our bikes behind the Rijksmuseum near Leidsplein on Weteringshans street. Then it was Leidsestraat to the cobblestone streets of Prinsengracht. See what I mean about the street names? From there who knows how we got to the Amsterdam museum on ...

... now an exhibition space so you cannot wander about. Most disappointing. We then saw the floating flower market which mainly had tulip and daffodil bulbs for sale very cheaply, they also sold marijuana starter kits and seeds. We saw many "coffee" shops that looked very suspicious, we didn't venture in.
