4:30am wake up, locked in hotel! ... been closed which is very upsetting. Bamboo swings have been errected and commandeered by swarms of local children and lots of goats and sheep have been sacrificed. We havent seen any actual sacrifices, just some piles of blood and hair about.

Yesterday everyone was wearing tikkas made of rice smeared with bright red paint on their foreheads. The guy who runs our guesthouse invited us to partake in some tikka painting action with his family ...

not much news....

i did the kathmandu half marathon!! i ran with some Gurkas from catterick would you believe..
i'm still trying to raise funds for the bajhang community hospital... it killed me. i couldnt walk for three days... even the massage hurt! it wasnt like the GNR... pollution, traffic, heat.. and dust all conspired to increase my time to 2:15... I DIDNT DO ANY TRAINING EITHER!

... dabei, aber dafür hätte ich auch nicht die nötige Ausrüstung dabei gehabt. Aber anstrengend wars auch so.. Wir haben einen 5-Tages-Trek in 4 Tagen und dazu noch mit mehr Höhenmetern absolviert, weil wir ja „verkehrt“ rum gelaufen sind. Da kann ich als bekennende Couchkartoffel schon ein bisschen stolz sein ;-)
