All in all a lovely home exchange in very nice villa with lot's to see and do in the area. We ate every meal outside, mostly away from home as it has been so cheap, and swam pretty well every day.
Next, the Cyclades islands for three weeks...... you will hear from us as and when we have internet access, as this is going to be a problem.

The town and area is largely English speaking, and everyone is exceptionally friendly.
Prices are ridiculously cheap- a two course dinner last night cost the four of us €37 or about NZ$62, including 1.5 litres of very acceptable house wine at €6 or $10 a litre.

... Luna Lounge, the second best rated on trip advisor. I've been to many coffee joins and sea side bars here in Kalamata but not given myself the opportunity to explore much of the cities interior. Well, so here I am....It's definitely not the cheapest place I've found, it's actually one of the more expensive I've encountered here in Greece but again you have to remember that when travelling in a place for three months your budget ...
