... valley with a creek running beside the path. We saw cows, sheep and chickens in the pastures. The little mountain villages almost become more quaint each day. We are truly in the Galacian mountains and enjoying the scenery and food. One of their specialties is garlic soup (roasted garlic in an egg drop like soup). Tomorrow we have a climb up over a pass in the morning and then follow another valley the rest of the day. ...

Entry to Llanes was spectacular. After driving 500km in 5 hrs the rain hit. 150mm in 30 mins. The town went under with police directing you away from the city. The last 10km took 1 1/2 hrs. Thank goodness the town drains quickly. The apartmentent is on the top floor with a balcony overlooking the centre of town. People watching beccomes an artform. Parking in the garage is interesting fitting the car with 50mm each side. Have to fold ...

Then comes the rain but we are tucked up by then so no worries. Saprano's it is ...

... ridden approx 100 km by the time we see them, they are soooo fast, not sweating and not panting! Then the Pelaton, it is quite awesome how they ride so close together at such speed, they are so fit. We see Chris Froome and the rest of the Sky team. Lots of support vehicles loaded with spare bikes and parts and a van at the end from which someone leaps out to remove ...

Good lie in then went to a small village called La Vega to do a cycle ride up a mountain. The road is quiet and so beautiful ending up going through 2 short cool tunnels, then a dead end where there is a village called Cucayo. the route was up, up and constantly up for 12km and took me an hour and 10 mins and Adrian an hour. It was a good workout and sweaty. The hotel is lovely and they give us a local dish which I ...
