This morning we drove through Slovenia's only National Park. The park covers a few mountains near the Slovenia, Italy, and Austria borders. The road over the mountain contains 50 switchbacks/hairpin turns; that doesn't count other turns, just the severe ones! Grant, had the pleasure of driving with other drivers who like to use both lanes, along with motorcycles, ...

It was an exciting ride, not the most challenging rafting trip I have ever been on, but a good introduction for Sam and Blake. When the trip was over, we were picked up again by our German speaking driver and swept rapidly back into town.

... Oh well, that’s helpful I thought as we started off along the main road.

I didn’t even know how to steer the poor bugger who must have been just as confused with my rubbish manoeuvring as I was with his spontaneous cantering which would come out of nowhere. Quite frankly, I spent most of the first half hour on that horse completely scared out of my wits which not only Mattijs could tell (and I was behind him!) but the horse itself. Geeta was jittery and angsty ...
