      ... in a wee place recommended for its weiner snitzel...Claire and I shared a serving which was huge but delicious...re-energizing us for the next 20 plus km (also the large wine helped...the servings in this part of the world are very big...none of this filling your glass half or even a third full! We continued on crossing a 2 km long single lane bridge (across the Danube) definitely photos to be taken but we couldn't stop to take them ...

      ... one of the many benches lining the square- his hat is pulled over his eyes and he's barefoot so it's not a compliment to the French soldiers but the Slovaks weren't treated very well by Napoleon's troops. The large town hall has a cannonball lodged in its wall from the siege of that time- we walked through its courtyard which was beautifully restored with Renaissance facades.       ... kind of skips to three of the characters being mocked for their catholic beliefs and eventually brutally and violently killed by a mad man. It was a bit disturbing actually. And then it just got crazy after that. When I asked Ivan about what he thought later, he was a bit confused after this point also. It was like all the characters went mad and were expressing their particular mental illnesses and their individual craziness. But it was certainly interesting and I enjoyed it. And ...

      ... the capital of Slovakia. Slovakia is 40% forest and in the forests are big bad bears. It is also famous for thermal springs and sandstone caves. It is becoming a skiing destination but is not visited by many people. Bratislava was once the capital of Hungary until the 1800s. Czechoslovakia had a velvet divorce (smooth separation, no war) in 1993 and they became the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
