Having only seen Kalkan from a distance in the bus previously and thinking it looked good, I was keen to spend a couple of days there. We had one night in a near-by anchorage, and one night in the Kalkan harbour - another anchoring stress point! The town has largely been rebuilt further away from the old town after much was damaged in an earth quake. The old town has been largely restored and is very touristy, ...

... magical interlude in a special venue.

We had decided to head for Köyceġiz situated on a fresh water lake between Marmaris and Dalaman. The distance was 46Km but the GPS estimated travelling time as about 1,5hours – the twisty roads and the built up areas mean slow progress and time to enjoy the views.

Now comes one of the worst bits of any holiday... packing to go home! How do we get everything in the cases when they were pretty much filled to bursting on the way out here? Especially as we've bought a few bits to bring home that will need to be shoehorned in too. Somehow it all seems to fit into cases that had no spare room two weeks ago... very strange...!!! For the first time ever Elaine packed her own case, with a ...
