Hamish and I took a train and bus up to Each-Sur- Sure. A very pretty region that is part of one of the Luxembourg National Parks. The trees were past there autumn best, but still pretty. We started off by exploring the castle... now a well preserved ruin, that sits above a town that is in the"u" bend of the river Sure. Then we walked along the river banks towards Lultzhausen. It was a track some ...

One month ago today, I flew across the ocean to Europe for the first time in my life. It has been such a whirl wind of an experience but an amazing one that I am beyond grateful for. It is insane to think that I am living such an experience and it is not even half way over yet!

Random thought: the weirdest thing I have experienced here so far is being on a train by myself that unexpectedly stops then they make an announcement in only French so I had no ...

We are not in a touristy area so we get a chance to see the everyday lives of people living here. Still loving every minute here and looking forward to ...

My flight landed safely in Brussels. And it wasn't too long before we ended up gathering on a charter bus and took a 3 hour trip to the city of Differdange. When we got there, we had to wait for our host family, but our host family took so long to get there that we eventually decided to take a quick tour around Differdange. We stopped at a local bar to get some drinks. Here in Luxembourg, the legal drinking age is 16 years old. You could ...

The Chateau (if that's how you spell it)

A travel blog entry by wlbaker92 on May 11, 2012

First one at the Chateau and the last to leave. While there I explored where I will be learning for the next six weeks and a little around the city of Differdange. Got some local beer that was soooo good. I also got some gellato (italian ice cream). I also talked to the coordinator and he gave me a cell phone that I got 20 euros of minutes on. As you can tell I was there waiting for my host family for a long time. First one there and last one to ...
