    ... is that in the school with a strong TE faculty gained from the merger because they were now on considered to be on par with science. So strong D&T teachers gained from this and the subject strengthened in the school. Some schools still have TE as a stand alone subject. This number is decreasing. Teacher education has also gone down because physics teachers in many cases took over the subject.

    It was a stay close to home day. We had a lazy mornng, restocked groceries and waited for SusanM to arrive for lunch. Some went to the Phillips Museum in the afternoon, either by bike or by bus. It was an extremely well curated museum with lots of interactive exhibits, although it was a bit self promoting.

    ... is returned!

    After locking up my bike, I found a bench nearby and started to people watch. One interesting cultural norm I've been able to pick up is the lack of parenting. Picture this: a mother steps inside a shoe store and starts examining sandals and heels, her 3 year (blonde) son is tottering five-six paces behind her carrying a soccer ball. Mom is not panicking over the whereabouts of her son…Mom is examining those shoes! Stateside this would be unheard ...
