... subway, the next train was an hour away! It was now 3:30 and we thought it best to take the train all the way back to Rapallo (about an hour, stopping at every little station on the way). Arrived back at 5:00pm after stopping at the neighbouring Chiavari station for 15 mins (had to stick my head out of the train to ask someone who looked semi official if the train actually went to Rapallo (or if it had in fact reached the end of it's run)! ...

... a quiet place and all managed a bowl of pasta, then a slow walk home. Lovely still night, not cold at all. Home for showers and bed, we plan to get on the local train tomorrow and head back to one of the Cinque terre towns, and then walk between a few of the towns along the coast, stopping somewhere for lunch. Very grateful the kids are looking and feeling better. Buona ...

... at home. Lucia met us and showed us around. Pod coffee machine, and pods! Dishwasher and powder. Washing machine and powder. 3 bathrooms and soap and shower gel in each!! Unfortunately, 3 of us can't quite appreciate it yet, but I'm sure by tomorrow it will be a Bran Nue Day for all in our lovely seaside apartment. ... were heading the wrong way and our map was not making too much sense! After a bit more wandering we decided to give in and get a taxi back to port! It was after 3pm and getting cold. Our taxi driver got a bit lost in the maze of traffic at the port , he went down a one way street that was a dead end so he just popped his hazard lights on and headed back up the road dodging the oncoming traffic! ... I queued up at the deli section. He came along really happy that he'd found an interesting bottle of red. However, when I looked at the label which read, as I recall, Vino di Aceto, I realised it was vinegar. We both fell about laughing, and I can't believe I forgot to tell you all yesterday.
