So I arrived safely last night just after 7pm, the weather is very mild, Italian's like the French must have a different thermostat as they are all rugged up like it's cold whilst I'm comfortable in a singlet top or tshirt. As it was light and warm I decided to walk the 1.2km to the hotel rather than try and work out what bus I should try to catch after all that would have taken me longer and I'm only here for 12hrs so no point trying to work ...

The city is built on two distinct levels and to get to the upper part you catch an amazing fanicular, a construction masterpiece in itself.
If you visit, put aside your first impressions, and give it time to show it grandeur.
We bought pizza tonight, freshly made but terribly disappointed, not a patch on home, but must say the red wine made it taste better.
