    Ahh this is the South of France that we had hoped for! A clear blue sky with only the occasional white cloud scudding across . We set out , this time intent on a train journey, to Hendaye, a little town on the French /Spanish border for a day at the beach.

    ... that it may shortly come alive. Perhaps the crowd has swelled sufficiently or maybe it is midday so time to open up. Not for us though. The funicular returns us to the bottom of the hill near to San Sebastian's third beach, Playa de Ondaretta. There is a wide promenade that sweeps beside the crescents of beach back to the Old Town.     My other big outing was for a haircut. The girl cutting my hair spoke absolutely zero English. Was done via a photo of me with shorter hair. All good and cost €27
