San Sebastián, The Seaside Jewel!
... Dichos" began! Ones to remember: El Gato Encerrado, Un pájarito me dijo, Es ist etwas im Busch, Wer dem Pfennig nicht erht, its den Taler nich wert and many more over the course of the day! And somehow our day was filled with "Calcetines, Cinturones, cajones, palizas" and other seemingly easily forgettable words!
After the great start to the day and a stomach full of caffeine, we headed out to walk along the Paseo de la Concha ( the Beach ...

San Sebastian & the Basque Coast
Upon driving into Spain it started raining. Day 4 in spain as I write this, and it is still tipping it down. All footwear is now soaked, as are both my jackets, trousers and socks!!
Gave up waiting for the rain to stop and walked into San Sebastian. Nice city based in a sheltered bay with two large hills at either end. One has a small furnicular railway taking you to the top, the other is a more tiring walk through rivers of water flowing
down the footpaths. The summit however ...
Well that was a long day
I left home at 11:00 am this morning to get to the airport on time. I checked in and was offered a seat in the emergency row of the plane. I thought to myself this is too good to be true.... should have known something was going to go wrong. As it turns out I was on the aisle seat and right in front of the emergency exit row was the bathroom. This meant a constant flow of people who all appeared to be playing a game of lets ...
Surf Country, this one is for Scott
... to take off his shorts, then his underwear while standing in the middle of the beach. I am pretty sure he intended to put his bathing suit on but I did not stay around to see if that happened.
Unfortunately my pictures do not do justice. I was pretty far from the surf. I hope you get an inkling of the experience. It sure was a lot of fun just being a casual bystander.
