      ... towards the Eastern Alps. They were married in the Roseg valley with the Bernina Range in the background. The sun shone on the glaciers as we made our way along the trail. After lunch at the Hotel Roseg Gletschier (which specializes in desserts!) and a rest in the sun we continued the hike to the site of their wedding. It was a perfect day and a magical place. Max had fun crawling around while we soaked in the beauty around us.

      Quick entry to reflect a lunch stop in Liechtenstein. This tiny country is most famous for selling postage stamps, and the fact that almost every European tour operator includes a few minutes here so they can boast of another country visited. Now that I think about it, maybe that 's what we did :-)

      ... up steep, slippery steps at the side of the waterfall, to walking on open grass-covered mountains. My guide set a pace that meant we could meet the times set by the signposts (times obviously set by taller men and women with longer strides!).

Marcello took us to the towns Rose Garden, showed us around a little of the old town and then let us loose for an hour which included our lunch time. On our wander around the grounds of a church, we found the sweetest cemetery where every grave was so different to the last and adorned with flowers and small trinkets to keep the dearly departed company.       Thursday 28 August

      Moved on this morning, up the Pitztal valley, just south
      of Imst. Went up to the Pitztal glacier, taking the Glacier Express(tunnel
      train) followed Tyrol’s highest cable car to the restaurant at 3,440m, near the
      top of the Wildspitze (3,774m). Perfect weather for a day in the snow – blue
      skies and no wind.
