... and by taking an on-site walking class of Ancient Roman Monuments (from which I can confidently say that I can take anybody on a tour of Ancient Rome).
By living in Rome, I learned a sad amount of the Italian language, how to dangerously cross the road in the midst of afternoon traffic, the closest place to watch the sunset, which public transportation to take without having to purchase a ticket, and how easy it is to **** off any Italian... all important things to survive ...

... Shortly after 2 pm we were back on the road, with the generator running and the roof airs cooling our house as we traveled! Our travels were only delayed by a day and the repair work - minus the cost of overnight shipping and taxes - was covered by our extended warranty. So, a $780 repair cost us $120. This make Ken very happy!! As a bonus, we got to tour another State Capitol. All and all not a bad unplanned detour from our travels!
